In a surprising turn of events, WWE Smackdown witnessed former champions from NXT entering the main roster and seizing the opportunity in the women’s tag team championship tournament.

It was the two-time former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne from The Toxic Attraction who made their debuts on Friday nights to defeat Natalya and Sonya Deville in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Tournament and advance to the semifinal matchup.

Deville and Natalya were originally scheduled to face a different team from NXT 2.0 on WWE Smackdown. Nikkita Lyons and Zoey Stark were the original entrants to the brackets revealed for the tournament that is going on for the vacant tag team titles. However, they were removed and replaced just hours before last night’s show started.
