Prior to this week’s WWE Smackdown, rumors were running rampant about more WWE Superstars possibly coming back to the company. The name of Hit Row was specifically mentioned as they were touted to have great potential but they were never really utilized to their full potential. The speculations around the faction eventually came true.
As seen on the August 12 episode of WWE Smackdown, the popular NXT faction Hit Row (Ashante “Thee” Adonis, B-Fab, and Top Dolla) returned to WWE. They obviously didn’t have their leader Isaiah “Swerve” Scott by the side as he is currently signed with the All Elite Wrestling promotion.
WWE Smackdown: Roman Reigns’ Return And More Announced For August 19

Top Dolla and Ashante Adonis competed against Brandon Scott and Trevor Irvin in a short tag team match and they ended up winning the bout with the least effort. Once the match was over, the trio was reintroduced to the WWE Smackdown audience.
Following the mega comeback on WWE Smackdown, @GuidenKeane on Twitter wanted to see Scott now going by the name of Swerve Strickland to be reunited with the rest of the group. He wanted WWE to re-sign back Strickland into a contract and re-form the group while he’s “wasting away” in AEW.

Strickland saw the post and shared his thoughts about the comment by posting a picture of AEW’s current champions. At the center of that image was Strickland holding one-half of the AEW Tag Team Championships on his shoulder alongside another former WWE NXT Superstar in Keith Lee. Both have been released by the WWE during last year’s summer.

Hit Row was called to WWE Smackdown during Draft 2021
Hit Row was originally formed in NXT in May 2021. Strickland as the leader of the group (then performing under the name Isaiah “Swerve” Scott) became the NXT North American Champion within just weeks of the group’s formation.
Due to their immense potential, Hit Row was called up to the main roster on WWE Smackdown during the WWE Draft last October A lack of creative opportunity made the biggest opportunity of their careers getting vanquished. All four of them were released by WWE within weeks of their call-up.
Now, with Triple H in charge of creative things in the WWE, there have been reports of Hit Row coming back to the fold. Now that it’s happened, we believe that the team would go on to become an integral part of the WWE Smackdown roster.
