A major title match has been announced for the very next episode of WWE Smackdown where the tag team titles will be on the line. In a potentially historic match for November 11 episode, The New Day – Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will challenge for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles.
Their opponents for this bout on WWE Smackdown are yet to be determined. The battle The Usos vs. Brawling Brutes title match that takes place on tonight’s Crown Jewel premium live event will decide the same. This bout will also take place for the tag title and the winners will face The New Day, next week.
WWE Smackdown: Emma Didn’t Hide To Keep Her Return A Secret
The historic element into the upcoming match comes as The Usos are able to defeat both Brawling Brutes and The New Day in their next two consecutive matches then they’d officially cement themselves as the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions in history, surpassing the current record held by The New Day (483 days).
Thus, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will have the opportunity to save their record by defeating The Usos on WWE Smackdown. But if The Brawling Brutes – Butch and Ridge Holland are able to dethrone The Usos in Saudi Arabia from their current reign, then next week’s title match will take place in a fresh capacity with lesser stakes.

The Usos have been ruling WWE Smackdown for over a year
The Usos are currently holding the WWE Tag Team Titles for the 12th time since clinching the titles for the first time in November 2014. They already have the record of holding the most tag team reigns in WWE history. They had seven previous stints as WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions and four stints as Raw Tag Team Champions alongside the ongoing undisputed tag team reign.
As for The New Day, it was in December 2016 that they set the record of becoming the longest WWE Tag Team Champions, at 483 days, surpassing the earlier 28-year-old record held by Demolition of 478 days.
The Usos’ current reign started at Money in the Bank 2021 by defeating The Mysterios for WWE Smackdown tag team titles on July 18, 2021. They are currently on the 475th day of the ongoing reign. They became the Undisputed Tag Team Champions by defeating former Raw Tag Team Champions Team RK-Bro – Randy Orton and Riddle in a “Winners Take All” Title Unification Match in May.
