This past Friday two separate WWE Smackdown episodes were taped on a single night since the WWE roster won’t be in the US, next week. The entire crew and production will be traveling to Saudi Arabia for the Elimination Chamber premium event scheduled for February 19. So, WWE won’t have Friday’s show to broadcast in a live format but on the other hand, they will have the advantage of getting the unwanted things edited.
On the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE is set to edit the contract signing segment on WWE SmackDown to be aired, this Friday. As reported earlier, footage emerged from the segment featuring Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair that was filmed live from the arena. A major portion of the fans complained about the segment being awkward-looking as the latter botched her step.
Ronda was set to slam her Wrestlemania 38 opponent onto the table, but Flair resisted and then went down as she didn’t possibly want to sell the slam. Some of the fans also pointed out how it was similar for Flair who intentionally let the championship belt slip from hand to make Becky Lynch look bad on a segment from the post-Crown Jewel edition of WWE Smackdown.

Next WWE Smackdown will be a taped edition
Since the next episode won’t be a live one, the company has the benefit of making some edits on WWE SmackDown to switch things up so that they can cover up the both made by Flair. It is unclear what they will do exactly, but WWE does tape from several angles at once which will allow them to air a different view of the incident so that they both couldn’t be noticed. The mentioned contract signing will be there on the show to set up a new match for the upcoming Elimination Chamber premium event.
WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair will be teaming up with WWE Official Sonya Deville in Saudi Arabia s they will be competing against Ronda Rousey and Naomi. Flair and Rousey are set to collide at WrestleMania 38 for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
