WWE Summerslam 2021 is shaping up to be a Wrestlemania-worthy card as the company seems to be pulling all the stops to make it a grand one. WWE hit the road again back in July after 70 weeks without live fans with an epic the Money in the Bank weekend. They are back on regular track with house shows, but the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over. So it hasn’t really stopped spreading worries within the company as they could be back in the closed set.

The initial expectation was that WWE would be continuing the festivities with Summerslam 2021, down the road. But things are looking negative, at this juncture where the future of the PPV is uncertain. The event could eventually have to be moved from the scheduled location as a result of the COVID-19 precautionary measures.

According to a report from Bodyslam.net, WWE is concerned that their August 21st SummerSlam 2021 event may not go down as planned as COVID-19 cases keep on increasing. As reported by sources, earlier, there is already a mask mandate in effect for Clark County, Nevada.

Mask is mandatory for WWE Summerslam attendance

It is reported that everyone whether vaccinated and non-vaccinated, must wear masks in “public indoor spaces.” Allegiant Stadium is an outdoor venue if the retractable roof is not on it but it will be interesting to see whether the fans could ultimately be gathered at SummerSlam 2021 even with going by this mandate. The new order already began on July 30th and it wasn’t announced that how long it will last.

WWE is seemingly worried that mandates against large gatherings could be issued, soon as they will have to stop their SummerSlam 2021 plans. The internal expectation within WWE is “that they will have to return to the Performance Center or another venue for their ThunderDome gimmick within a couple of weeks.”

The current internal feeling is that “SummerSlam can/will be cancelled.” Additionally, the thought is that “the company fully expects that they will not be on the road in four weeks’ time.”

While a full lockdown state is not expected by the WWE, bans on mass gatherings could soon be beginning. In that case, the company will have to run shows without fans in attendance, yet again. In that case, another Performance Center visit or a new booking for Thunderdome is very likely to happen around Summerslam 2021.
