Summerslam 2022 didn’t receive any new addition to the match card during the latest episode of Monday Night Raw. But it sure did set things up for a huge triple threat title match for the late-July WWE Network Specials where the Women’s Title from the red brand would be on the line.
Over on Raw, it was announced that Bianca Belair will defend her Raw Women’s Championship against Carmella in a rematch. At the beginning of this month, Belair successfully defended her title against the same challenger at Money in the Bank 2022 via a clean pin-fall win but the feud continued, afterward en route to Summerslam 2022.
Top WWE Raw Superstar Possibly Turning Heel?
After their match at MITB, Carmella attacked Belair as her quest of becoming the champion continued. Eventually, she defeated Belair in the rematch on Raw via Count-Out when Becky Lynch distracted Belair at the ringside area. No new champion was crowned since the title doesn’t change hands via disqualification or count-out.
Carmella started celebrating just after she was announced to be the winner as she thought herself to be the new champion. Moving on, she demanded to be crowned the new champion in a backstage promo while Becky Lynch also had the same pledge for a title match opportunity at Summerslam 2022.
WWE Summerslam 2022: A Special Guest Referee Teased On Raw For Title Match
Before Belair vs. Carmella on Raw, Big Time Becks was upset on Raw since she’s not declared to be the Number-one Contender for the RAW Women’s Championship even after defeating Asuka, last week.
With two women gunning for the Raw Women’s Title, it appears that WWE will announce Bianca Belair (c) vs. Carmella vs. Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat at Summerslam 2022 for the red brand belt. The confirmation is likely to happen in the coming weeks.
