Former three times world champion in WWE Bobby Lashley who is also a former to time stamp WWE United States champion recently talked about brand Supremacy in WWE. Lashley gave this interview by keeping kayfabe in mind with Survivor Series Knocking on the door.
Bobby Lashley is a part of team RAW on this year’s men’s Survivor Series classic elimination tag team match. Like the recent years, once again WWE organised the brand warfare on this year’s Survivor Series.
WWE Survivor Series – Bobby Lashley Talks Brand Supremacy
Every year RAW and Smackdown collide against each other in different Smackdown vs Raw Matches. All the champions from both brands face each other, and men and women map to face each other in the classic Survivor Series elimination tag team match.
But this event was not like this all the time. The concept of Smackdown vs Raw was first introduced back in 2005 through Survivor Series. After that WWE started to organise a pay per view event called Bragging Rights where wrestlers from SmackDown and RAW face each other. But the idea of Bragging Rights failed. With the return of brand extension in 2016 WWE came back with the same concept once again, this time through Survivor Series.
But since the beginning of the brand warfare idea of WWE, the buildup of Survivor Series 2021 had to be the worst. There was no build up actually. Even some of the matches the was booked on the go home show of Monday Night RAW, and it was like they got books just because they had to get booked.
It is still a question what kept away from building this year’s Survivor Series well. Most of the matches had no build up at all. Some of them at least got some promo hypes but they were also very minor.
Bobby Lashley who is also a former to time stamp WWE United States champion recently spoke to Josh Martinez of Z100 where he talked about brand Supremacy in WWE. Lashley gave this interview by keeping kayfabe in mind with Survivor Series Knocking on the door. He said;
“I think everybody — since they made the changes, they’re going to be battling for where they’re at right now. I mean, Seth was on Raw before he was on SmackDown, and he’s back on Raw. So there’s no loyalty to where you used to be. The loyalty is to where you are right now. Because after the Survivor Series this Sunday, it’s right back to being [on] our show.
“So we need those bragging rights and wherever you’re at right now, that’s where you’re going to be fighting for. That’s where you’re going to be talking trash after it’s all over.”
