Since the beginning of this year, The Rock is heavily rumored to make a comeback to the WWE programming on a historic occasion. He was also supposed to get clubbed into a Wrestlemania program which has now been scrapped. But the company still intends to use him in a big way to get some more subscribers to the WWE Network and Peacock.
WWE announced, earlier on the night that they will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s WWE debut during the month of November.
Back in 1996 WWE Survivor Series pay-per-view from Madison Square Garden in New York City that a young Rocky Maivia debuted in the WWE as he teamed up with WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts, Marc Mero, and The Stalker (WWE Hall of Famer Barry Windham) to get a win over the team of Crush, Goldust, Triple H and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler in a 4-on-4 Traditional Survivor Series Tag Team Elimination Match.

The month-long celebration around The Rock will witness new digital and social media content while a new episode of WWE Best Of drops, later the night on Peacock/WWE Network. It will feature the greatest matches and moments from the legendary career of the eight-time WWE Champion. WWE is also trying to encourage the fans to use the #Rock25 hashtag this month to keep the legendary wrestler, trending on the internet.

Wrestlemania plans canceled for The Rock
As noted above, The Rock was rumored to appear at the 2021 Survivor Series pay-per-view set to emanate from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. This could have also marked the beginning for an anticipated program with the Universal Champion Roman Reigns. But unavailability of dates of the Hollywood star could have canceled all those plans, for now.
