WWE: What to Expect From This Week’s WWE Smackdown Live: April 24, 2018

Arindam Paul / 24 April 2018

The Greatest Royal Rumble event will stream live from Saudi Arabia for which the hype-up is even bigger on today's Smackdown Live.

We are getting an additional WWE Network exclusive show on this Friday night. The Greatest Royal Rumble event will stream live from Saudi Arabia for which the hype is even bigger on today’s Smackdown Live.

The WWE Championship feud will be the focal point of the evening, as usual.

Also, the other titles will also be on the line. Hence, the final buildups for the upcoming night will be made on the show. Also, for the first time, the former undefeated streak-holder will be seen competing inside the ring on the blue brand.

The show will emanate from the KFC Yum Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

For the past couple of weeks, the rivalry between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura took a completely new turn. The latter one converted into a solid heel changing the complexion of Smackdown Live.

Low blows have become his pendant moves, as Styles faced the wrath, continuously. Tonight, we will see if the champion comes back, effectively or not.

Last week’s show closed on a note where we should get a new rivalry from this week onwards. Big Cass returned in surprising capacity targeting none other than Daniel Bryan who will now seek revenge against the big man. It will insert Cass right into the main event scene, no doubt.

Plus, Daniel Bryan will have to see his back considering his old nemesis is coming back onboard. The Miz will make his presence felt on the Smackdown brand after a long time. There’s no doubt that he will renew his rivalry against the former Smackdown general manager. An edition of Miz TV has already been announced with Bryan as the guest.

In the women’s division, the Iconic Duo arrived on the scene helping Carmella to become the new champion. The heels were dominating the scene until Asuka made her debut, last week. Tonight, the former NXT Champion will make her debut in a tag team contest,

“One week after Asuka arrived on SmackDown LIVE as part of the Superstar Shake-up, The Empress of Tomorrow will make her official in-ring debut as a member of the blue brand when she teams up with Becky Lynch to battle The IIconics. Asuka’s stunning SmackDown arrival came this past Tuesday when she saved Becky and Charlotte Flair from a three-on-two beatdown at the hands of SmackDown Women’s Champion Carmella and Billie Kay & Peyton Royce of The IIconics.”

Charlotte Flair is expected to be present at the ringside to see that the babyfaces prevail. She will also have a face-off against Carmella inside the ring.

Also, the rivalry between the Usos and The Bludgeon Brothers would continue over the Smackdown tag team championships. Jimmy Uso is scheduled for a singles matchup against Rowan of the tag team champs.
