WWE WrestleMania 37 was a pretty fun show. However, there were no surprises neither any shocking outcomes from any of the existing matches. Three title matches took place on this show, rest kept for the next night.
Match 1 – WWE Champion Bobby Lashley defeated Drew McIntyre by submission to retain.
WWE WrestleMania 37 Night 1 Full Results And Ratings
We kick things off with the WWE title match between the Champion Bobby Lashley and the challenger Drew McIntyre. This was the longest booked match for the night with a twenty-minute booking. It was quite a physical contest and pretty fun to watch. Bobby made Drew submit with the Full Nelson Lock.
Match 2 – Natalya Neidhart & Tamina Snuka won the Tag Team Turmoil match.
It was booked for around 15 minutes and it was a little predictable as in a very short amount of time Natalya & Tamina were built as a stronger force. The last eliminated the Riott Squad to ensure victory for their side.
Match 3 – Cesaro defeated Seth Rollins
The match was pretty fun to watch, however, the match was only booked for Cesaro to push him for a single run. It was booked for around 12 minutes, and from the very beginning. At the end of the match, Cesaro completely humiliated Seth with 23 Cesaro Swings. Cesaro pinned Seth with a Neutralizer.
Match 4 – AJ Styles & Omos defeated The New Day to Become new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions
This match was mainly booked to build Omos as an unstoppable force, and my god he is strong. As soon as he entered the ring, he completely manhandled the New Day. Omos pinned Kofi Kingston with a Two-Handed Chokeslam. He kind of reminded us of The Great Khali’s dominant days.
Match 5 – Braun Strowman defeated Shane McMahon in a Steel Cage Match
Most people predicted this match would be a one-man show but it was far from being something like that. The match would be mostly dominated by Braun, or in the worst case, it could be a squash. But they booked it pretty well. Shane’s cheeky ideas were really fun to watch and Braun overcoming all the odds was also quite fun. Braun pinned Shane with a running power slam.
Match 6 – Bad Bunny and Damian Priest defeated The Miz and John Morrison
This was the most predictable match of the night, even though Bad Bunny’s performance was quite surprising and he did pretty well with three famous professional wrestlers. Miz and Morrison on the other hand, did pretty good to sell and execute everything properly. Bad Bunny pinned the Miz with an Electric Chair Cross Body.
Main Event – Bianca Belair defeated Sasha Banks to become the new WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion
The match was worthy of the main event, however, the backstory for the match quite weak. When the match started, Bianca could not hold her tears as she got very emotional. This was the real WrestleMania of the night. Bianca was mostly built as a stronger force among the two. In the end, she pinned Sasha Banks with the KOD finishing maneuver.
The show was a good experience overall, nothing much surprising or shocking happened on this night but we can hope for something like that on the next night. We give the first night 3 stars out of 5. 1 star will be deducted for not having such WrestleMania-worthy matches, half star will be deducted for booking Miz and Morrison really weak and the half star will be deducted for flat bookings.
