WrestleMania Backlash 2022 will continue a tradition that only began from last year onward in an effort to extend the Wrestlemania season for a month. The show will feature the backlash from WrestleMania 38 concluded in April. Under the Backlash chronology, it marks the 17th annual professional wrestling live event produced by WWE.
Both Raw and SmackDown brand superstars will be performing at Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 which will be available to stream through Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network, anywhere else. As noted, the name Wrestlemania Backlash will be used only for the second time after 2021 as WWE might intend to officially rename the event series.

The Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island will host the show for the third time after the 1999 and 2009 editions. For Indian fans, Wrestlemania Backlash 2022 will be available via Sony Sports Network. It will air, LIVE on Sony Ten 1 channels in English, Sony Ten 3 channels in Hindi, and Sony Ten 4 channels in Tamil and Telugu. The start of the broadcast will be at 5:30 AM IST while repeat telecasts will be aired at 10:00 am, 3:00 pm, 8:00 pm IST on the same networks. Additionally, the Sony LIV OTT platform will also broadcast the Premium Live Event, live.
