Since after coming back to the WWE, Zelina Vega is yet to pick up her maiden win on SmackDown. Back on this last Friday night, she ended up digesting yet another loss alongside Carmella against the returning Sasha Banks and the SmackDown Women’s Champion Bianca Belair. But that isn’t creating too much concern for her.
That match also marked the very first time that Zelina Vega featured in a main event match in her WWE career. But that wasn’t enough to suppress her spirits. Instead, she’s focused on receiving a shot to the SmackDown Women’s Title as promised to her by the champion, Bianca Belair during the main show’s TV taping of SmackDown on FOX.
Then in a follow-up appearance on Talking Smack, Zelina Vega told the co-host, Kayla Braxton, that how important it is for Belair to keep her word on giving her a title match. That promise was obviously made before Sasha Banks made her much-anticipated return on SmackDown since WrestleMania 37. Vega would go on to mention that Banks interfered with her career-defining opportunity.

“If we can remember anything from tonight, I didn’t lose. I went right up to Bianca Belair’s face, looked her right in the eye and challenged her for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. And she accepted. That is the most important thing about tonight,” Zelina Vega noted on he happening from the July 30 SmackDown episode.
Then Kayla Braxton mentioned that Sasha Banks’ return would eventually set her up in a position to be the new challenger to the SmackDown Women’s Championship. Zelina Vega was definitely not happy with those remarks as she would go on to blast the returnee with some blatant remarks,
“Who is Sasha Banks? Who cares about Sasha Banks? [Do] you know why she calls herself the ‘conversation?’ Because the conversation is about how everybody hates her. That is what Sasha Banks is about. Who is she the boss of? She ain’t the boss of me.”
“I’m gonna tell you this right now: anybody who mentions Sasha Banks in my presence will get smacked right in the face. Starting now.” (Quotes courtesy Wrestling Inc)
As you can see, Zelina Vega was clearly annoyed with the mention of Sasha Banks on Talking Smack. The return of The Boss has clearly pushed her back in the line of a title match opportunity. Since after getting re-hired by the WWE, the former manager of Andrade is focused on becoming a champion. She was handed a spot to the 2021 Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match, as well but she couldn’t capitalize on it. We’ll have to see how she manages to seize future opportunities.
