Zelina Vega has become a singles superstar in the female division of the WWE after splitting up with the team of Andrade and Angel Garza. Back in September, she earned an opportunity of a lifetime when she went one-on-one with the RAW Women’s Champion, Asuka, for the title at Clash Of Champions PPV.
Obviously, La Muneca wasn’t successful in dethroning Asuka from the latter’s reign on that night as well as a rematch on Raw but those two matches proved that she’s no more a valet for and Angel Garza or Andrade. She did come up with exhilarating performances that captivated the audience and perhaps would create more opportunities for her.
In an interview on Lilian Garcia’s Chasing Glory Podcast, Zelina Vega sounded very proud to be a contender for that Raw Women’s title. She explained in detail how she and Asuka worked hard to make the brief program a success,
“I was proud of myself [for] being able to go, ‘Okay, Asuka, let’s do this. Like, we got this.’ And we were able to get through it, and not only get through it but then people really seemed to like it, and that’s where I was like, ‘Wow, that’s something important.’ If you can accomplish what you wanted to and be able to handle yourself as a professional, that’s what I was really the most proud of, for sure.”
