Off-late the country has gone through saffron revolution in the general elections of 2014 which was led by none other than one of the most charming forces in modern times in India, Narendra Modi. Narendra Modi has been pretty busy about work and development for quite some time. And recently, he has been offered to rejoice the excitement of the final of the Greatest Show on Earth, the FIFA World Cup, 2014. It has been revealed from official sources that Narendra Modi has been invited by the Brazilian President, Dilma Rouseff to watch the Final of FIFA World Cup, 2014 to be held at Estadio do Maracana in Rio on 13th July.

It is pretty much respectable for the entire country as our Prime Minister has been personally invited by the Brazilian President.

If the Indian Prime Minister attends the Final, he will be in company with the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, Chinese President, Xi Jinping and also South African President, Jacob Zuma. There will be BRICS Summit to be held at Brazilian city, Fortaleza from July 15th-17th and on that note, the leaders will be visiting there.

Ministry of External Affairs of India revealed the news to a renowned media source claiming that our Prime Minister has been invited.

The summit was scheduled to be held at China in March this year but on account of the fact that the national leaders wanted to have a taste of football, the summit has been scheduled on mid July in Brazil.

But it is quite a shameful fact that all the nations in the BRICS summit have played World Cup tournaments except India. And it is also a fact that 3 BRICS nations are holding successive world cup tournaments, South Africa in 2010, Brazil this year and Russia to be hosting in 2018.

India did not manage to make a mark in world football and they ranks 154 in the current FIFA rankings. India, however did manage to qualify for the World Cup in 1950 but due to lack of financial support, they did not get the opportunity to travel Brazil and take part at the World Cup.

Though, it will be respectable for the entire country if our PM pays a visit at the World Cup final as he will be representing the nation.

The Fortaleza summit will be Narendra Modi’s first multilateral summit and his 3rd visit to a foreign country as a PM.
