Rajkot has bought Ravindra Jadeja, who has been playing for Chennai Super Kings for the last couple of years. Now, after the players draft Jadeja and MS Dhoni will confront each other for two different teams.
Jadeja said bowling to his former captain MS Dhoni will be a big challenge.
Dhoni and Jadeja were playing for CSK but after ’s IPL draft, the Indian wicketkeeper-batsman will now play for New Rising Pune while the left arm spinner will move to his home city Rajkot for the ninth edition of the T20 league.
When asked about his fleeing to bowl against Dhoni, the left-handed allrounder said, “It’s a big challenge to bowl against Dhoni, particularly in the shorter version of the game, as Dhoni has proved himself as the best finisher of the game, but I will do my level best to perform well”.
The 27-year-old cricketer also hopes to play to his potential in the lucrative league, which commences on April 9 at Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.
“It’s a different kind of feeling which can not be expressed while playing for the home team and I hope that I would be doing well in the IPL,” he said.
“I have been selected in the Rajkot team as a good player and there is a chance for me to go further if I could play good cricket in coming IPL season,” said Jadeja, who started his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals.
Rajkot will be Jadeja’s fourth IPL team. His first franchise was Rajsthan Royals, then he played, for now, dyfunct Kochi Tuskers.
With T20 World Cup at home knocking at the door Jadeja will like to back in the rank of Indian team. In the recently conlcuded Test series, Jadeja has played an instrumental role to win the series 3-0 for India. He has taken two fifers.
