AEW Dynasty 2024 will present yet another opportunity for Swerve Strickland to become the new AEW World Champion. Being a super babyface star of the roster, the crowd is firmly behind him and this could finally be his time to win the gold in about a month from now.

In the main event of this week’s episode of Dynamite, Swerve Strickland defeated Konosuke Takehshita to become the Number-One Contender for the AEW World Championship. After a solid fast-paced encounter, the Swerve Stomp connected followed by the Big Pressure on Takeshita that earned Swerve the title match at AEW Dynasty 2024.

Mercedes Mone Reportedly Signs Multi-Year Deal With AEW Following March 13 Debut

After the match, AEW World Champion Samoa Joe mentioned in his promo that when Swerve Strickland steps into the ring next week to finalize the match for AEW Dynasty 2024 via a contract signing, he will ensure that Strickland knows what he’s getting into.

Earlier this month, Joe retained his title in a triple threat match against Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page at Revolution PPV. But Strickland wasn’t involved in the match-ending sequence where Page tapped out to Joe’s Coquina Clutch submission.

In another big match on this week’s episode of Dynamite, Willow Nightingale defeated Kris Statlander, Skye Blue, and Anna Jay in a Fatal-4-Way Match to become the new Number-One Contender for the TBS Women’s Championship at AEW Dynasty 2024. Willow pinned Anna right into the mat to gain the pinfall win in the presence of Mercedes Mone at ringside. After the match, the TBS Women’s Champion Julia Hart came out and attacked Willow while staring at Mone.

AEW Dynasty 2024 PPV Match Card

AEW Dynasty 2024 PPV is scheduled for Sunday, April 21, at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri and it will be a brand new PPV in the All Elite Wrestling promotion. The currently set match card for the show is given below:
