The left-handed opening batsman David Warner is currently in a great form. In the ongoing IPL 2019, the 32-year-old dominated as an opening batsman. After completion of the 12-month suspension, Warner is ready along with Steven Smith to return to the national squad. Both of them will feature in the upcoming 2019 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in England and Wales.

Aaron Finch believes that Warner will maintain his present form in international cricket.

Finch recently told Melbourne commercial radio, “He’s coming back with a huge hunger, not just to perform well for his franchise, but to dominate international cricket again.

“When you have your dream taken away from you for 12 months, I can imagine there’s something inside you that burns really strongly.”

After making his international debut in January 2009, David Warner has gradually evolved himself as a dominant batsman. He has played 74 Tests, 106 ODIs and 70 T20Is where he has scored 6,363 runs (average 48.20), 4,343 runs (average 43.43) and 1,792 runs (average 26.74) respectively. As an Australian opening batsman, Warner is the second most run-scorer in international cricket (12,270 runs).

Due to their involvement in Sandpaper-gate scandal, Steven Smith and David Warner faced 12-months banned in March 2018. Finch believes that this one-year gap will make Warner fresh for international cricket.

Finch added, “He’s a super player, we know how destructive he can be. I think having time off to spend with his family and get away from the game (was important).”

Finch has revealed that he will utilise their top experiences for the on-field tactics.

The Australian limited-overs captain said, “I’ll be using them as much as I can tactically because they’ve both captained a lot of cricket and are very good captains on the field.

“It would be really naive of me not to lean on them.”
