IPL 2019: Rahul Chahar Stands Out – Sachin Tendulkar

Mumbai Indians had a stellar night on the other date at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. They won a low-scoring thriller with just 1 run to clinch the IPL title for the fourth time in the tournament. Meanwhile, the icon of Mumbai, in fact, India, Sachin Tendulkar lavished praise on Rahul Chahar.

The leg-spinner delivered the goods in the pressure-filled match. He kept Chennai Super Kings‘ batsmen in check with his brilliant bowling display. He went for just 14 runs in the match, which made the difference in the end. Chahar developed bowling diagonally, which impressed many former cricketers and analysts out there.

Speaking of the performance, Sachin Tendulkar quoted that Rahul Chahar was the stand out performer for Mumbai Indians in the final game. He was impressed for using a slip in the middle overs of the game and his consistency in hitting the right line and lengths.

Further, he also expressed his belief on Rahul Chahar way ahead of the game to the coach Mahela Jayawardene. Sachin Tendulkar believes that the youngster got the talent to see heights in his career.

“Rahul Chahar stands out. I shared my opinion (with Mahela) before he played his first game and I thought he was fabulous. Sixth to the 15th over, he bowled with a slip there and that was some real quality bowling in a crucial match,” Tendulkar said on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Jayawardene also showered words of praise on the youngster for his stunning spell. He termed the leg-spinner as brilliant, who kept the pressure right throughout the tournament.

“Rahul Chahar was brilliant. And also, created the pressure throughout for us,” said the former Sri Lankan skipper.

All in all, it has been a brilliant season for Rahul Chahar in this season for Mumbai Indians. Perhaps, he already impressed the selectors and would be on the cards as the backup for Yuzvendra Chahal.
