Australia had last toured Bangladesh in 2017.

“According to the FTP, we were supposed to host two Tests in February but now the Test series will be played in June-July 2020,” BCB cricket operations chairman Akram Khan told reporters.

On the other hand, Australia’s tour of Bangladesh for the T20I series has also been postponed. The tour was supposed to take place in October this year but it will now take place in 2021. The T20I series will be played prior to the eighth edition of the T20I World Cup set to be played in India.

“Initially we were expecting to host Australia for a two-match Twenty20 International series in October but now they have agreed to play three T20 internationals and it will be played ahead of the World T20 in India, though we are yet to finalize the date,” Akram said.

Bangladesh will kickstart their Test championship against India. The Tigers will play three T20Is and as many Test matches on the tour of India. The T20I series will begin from November 3 whereas the Test series will commence from November 14.
