Indian captain Virat Kohli has been rested from this T20I series. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has once again missed out the T20I series. Rishabh Pant will continue the T20I wicketkeeping role.

Rohit Sharma will lead the T20I side. Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur and uncapped Shivam Dube have been added in the T20I squad.

Pacer Navdeep Saini has missed out the T20I squad. Also, the Injured Hardik Pandya has expectedly missed out the T20I squad. The all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who was a busy player in recent time, will also miss out the forthcoming T20I series.

India have never lost against Bangladesh in T20I

It is going to be the first bilateral T20I series between India and Bangladesh. Earlier, they have played eight T20Is but never met in the bilateral T20I series. India have won all those eight T20Is.

Meanwhile, they have played only one T20I in India, during the Group Stage of ICC World T20 2016 at Bengaluru (23rd March 2016) that India won by just one run.

Last time, India-Bangladesh met in T20I during the final of Nidahas Trophy 2018 (at Colombo, RPS on 18th March 2018). It was a thrilling final that Dinesh Karthik remarkably guided India to the victory.

India are currently the no.4-ranked T20I team while Bangladesh are the no.9-ranked T20I side.

India played their last T20I series against South Africa at home last September. That three-match T20I series finished with 1-1 scoreline.
