Some may think that the match outcome on this week’s Raw eyed to give a push to the Team Hogan vs. Team Flair match at Crown Jewel. Or, it may have been a case of Drew getting back his win after return but that certainly is not the only reason for the finish.
As noted by Wrestling Observer Radio, this match was all about getting Drew McIntyre over as a dominant heel. WWE officials are focused on getting Drew’s push going now, but Ricochet is more of a long-term project. It was speculated that the Ricochet vs. McIntyre singles feud could continue coming out of Crown Jewel.”
For now, the focus must be on the Team Hogan vs. Team Flair at Crown Jewel. The lineup features Captain Roman Reigns, Rusev, Shorty G, Ali, and Ricochet vs. Captain Randy Orton, King Baron Corbin, Bobby Lashley, WWE Intercontinental Champion Shinsuke Nakamura, and Drew McIntyre. WWE Hall of Famers Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair will be at ringside for the match.
