Rusev is no longer a WWE Superstar and he’s not any more known by that name. He is happy to be Miro in the world of All Elite Wrestling promotion. His April 15th release came three years after he initially wanted to get rid of the company, three years ago. It was a blessing in disguise for him who was under-utilized in the WWE for the past couple of years. Many believed that he had the tools to be a champion but that wasn’t the case in reality.
WWE has certain edicts that superstars must strictly follow or else they’d have to deal with consequences. They decided in which certain way, one superstar can look like. Without their permission, it’s not a smart thing to change up looks and Rusev did the same mistake. Video game images, action figures, and other marketing strategies come into play behind this ethic.

Rusev Reveals WWE Buried And Fined Him For Cutting Hair

Apparently, Rusev wasn’t aware of that memo when he was in the WWE. He did change up his looks without taking prior permission from the officials and had to deal with some bitter consequences. While speaking to Talk Is Jericho, he revealed that WWE fined him after he cut his hair. The company wasn’t using him on TV at the time, so he decided to experiment with his look. This eventually caused him a big amount of fine after he trimmed up his long hair.
“I cut my hair because I had nothing going on. They were beating me day in and day out. I was going away for shoulder surgery. I came back for one match and they made Big Show chokeslam me four times and chokeslam me seven times and they tried to convince me to protect my character. C’mon man. I’m not that stupid. It’s ok because I love Big Show. He put me over when I needed it so I have to put him over. Who cares? I’m not that guy. Just tell him we need 3 chokeslams and a punch, one, two, three. Great, I’ll do it. They threw a big stink about my hair. They said, ‘how dare you? How can you? Why didn’t you ask?’ Sorry, I’ll ask next time,” stated Rusev. (Quotes courtesy Wrestling News)
WWE Star Lana Shares Hot Vacation Photos With Husband Rusev aka Miro

Thankfully, Rusev could’ve become Miro in the AEW, a company that doesn’t have the same idea about controlling their stars’ look as much as the WWE. They’re not even bothered about any third party agreement with their talents, an edict that is a matter of discussion for all the WWE Superstars. Tony Khan didn’t issue any such principle to be followed around their locker room. In opposition, WWE does see a haircut to be a bigger deal.
Miro aka Rusev revealed that he requested his release three years ago. He openly talked about his unhappiness in WWE to the officials and everyone was aware of it. But perhaps, they’re not paying attention to his character. He then added saying that WWE is so full of “stooges” that he didn’t feel safe, backstage. This was the reason why he asked Chris Jericho whether there’s a place for him in AEW.
