To the shock of the professional wrestling fans, WWE released Lana from her contract recently due to the COVID-19 related budget cuts. She is currently under a 90-day no-compete clause after which she can decide the next step in her career. She has already suffered a sudden release from the biggest pro-wrestling company in the world and she doesn’t want to go through that experience, again.
Lana will soon be free to talk to other rival brands of the WWE, and she wants to make sure that a release won’t be on the cards. While speaking to Talk Is Jericho, the former WWE Superstar revealed that she was actually texting Mandy Rose at the time of her release. Then she revealed to her Raw colleague that her release just became reality.

Then Lana gave a call to her bestie cum mentor Natalya even before giving a call to her husband Miro fka Rusev.
“I was in the middle of texting Mandy (Rose). We were texting about other random things and I’m just like, I just got released. She was like ‘Wait, what?’ and I’m like ‘Yeah, they literally just released me’. And I called Nattie immediately. I couldn’t even talk to Miro yet.”
The Ravishing Russian then added that whatever company she will sign up for in the professional wrestling industry, she will be having a no-cut contract clause added to the terms. She can’t live with the fear of getting released, all of a sudden. WWE offered her a lucrative deal in 2019 to which she agreed but eventually, that deal became fatal for her, causing the release.
Lana revealed how WWE canceled a whole segment
Speaking to Talk Is Jericho podcast, Lana also openly talked about the inconsistent booking that WWE has been carrying for most of the superstars. She revealed a big angle with Chelsea Green and Mickie James was taped, but then she got a call which noted that Vince McMahon decided to scrap the whole angle. Then they had to re-tape things to come up with new content.

“One time Nattie and I did a whole segment with Mickie James and they debuted Chelsea [Green]. So Nattie and I were at the Performance Center. I was managing Nattie. It was the first time I was managing her, and Chelsea was supposed to debut with Mickie, and we did it all. We did it all, we went home, I’m in bed, and we get a call from one of the writers that they’re cutting it. Vince looked at it and he went ‘no, cut the whole thing.’ And we had to go back to film another backstage, all of it. Chelsea didn’t debut. It was constantly weird stuff.”
There were reports in the past claiming that WWE taped a segment with Mickie James and Chelsea Green, and Lana seemed to have confirmed it during her conversation with Jericho. They were reportedly going to do an obsessed fan angle for Green and Mickie but that didn’t hit the screen. Afterward, Green was also released before she could make it back to WWE television.
