Ricky Ponting (Australia) – 415 runs

During the 2003 ODI World Cup, while the defending champions Australia retained their trophy, the Australian captain Ricky Ponting played some vital knocks in that tournament. Ponting finished that tournament as the most run-scorer for Australia as the right-handed batsman scored 415 runs in 10 innings with an average of 51.87.
During that tournament, the Aussie captain hit two centuries and only half-century. Ponting started that tournament with the 53 runs knock against Pakistan in the first game of their Group Stage (at Johannesburg on 11th February 2003). Later, in the Super Sixes stage, Ponting scored 114 runs against Sri Lanka at Centurion on 7th March 2003.
However, his best knock in that tournament was in the final of that tournament against India (at Johannesburg on 23rd March 2003), where his powerful 140 not out off 121 balls led his team to win that tournament.
