Sachin Tendulkar (India) – 673 runs

In the 2003 ODI World Cup, while India finished as the runners-up, Sachin Tendulkar played an important role with his bat in that entire tournament as the right-handed batsman was very consistent with the bat. He finished that tournament as the leading run-scorer as Tendulkar scored 673 runs in 11 matches with an average of 61.18.
During that tournament, Tendulkar registered seven 50+ scores, including one giant century (152 runs) against Namibia during the Group Stage (at Pietermaritzburg on 23rd February 2003). In that Group Stage, Tendulkar also scored famous 98 runs against Pakistan and 81 runs against the co-hosts Zimbabwe.
Later, Tendulkar scored 97 runs against Sri Lanka in the Super Sixes stage. During the semi-final of that tournament against Kenya, Tendulkar scored another crucial 83 runs.
