Ricky Ponting (Australia) – 539 runs

The Australian captain Ricky Ponting once again played an important role for his nation to win the Cricket World Cup as the right-handed top-order batsman was the third most run-scorer in the 2007 ODI World Cup. During that tournament, Ponting scored 539 runs in nine innings with an average of 67.37. He hit four half-centuries and one century during that tournament.
Ponting started that tournament with a century (113 runs off 93 balls) against Scotland at Basseterre on 14th March 2007 (Group Stage). During that Group Stage, Ponting also scored run-a-ball 91 runs against South Africa at Basseterre on 24th March 2007.
