Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi finished the 2011 World Cup as the joint most wicket-taker as he picked up 21 wickets in eight matches. The leg-spinner had the tournament bowling figures of 74.3-4-270-21. During that tournament, Afridi managed to claim 4+ wickets hauls in an innings for four times, including two five-wicket hauls and two four-wicket hauls.

In all the first three games of that tournament, Afridi got four or more wickets. In those early matches, Afridi had the bowling figures of 8-3-16-5 (against Kenya at Hambantota on 23rd February 2011), 10-0-34-4 (against Sri Lanka at Colombo, RPS on 26th February 2011) and 10-0-23-5 (against Canada at Colombo, RPS on 3rd March 2011).

Later, against West Indies in the quarter-final of that tournament (at Dhaka on 23rd March 2011), Afridi had the bowling figures of 9.3-1-30-4.
