It was the 22nd game of the 2014 T20 World Cup (Super 10 Stage). In the first innings of that game, after Sri Lanka lost their first wicket in the second over (4/1), Mahela Jayawardene came to bat. During his 145 runs partnership with the opener Tillakaratne Dilshan for the second wicket, Jayawardene scored 89 runs off 51 balls.

During that powerful knock, Jayawardene scored 62 runs from the boundaries – 11 fours and 4 sixes. While Sri Lanka scored 189/4 (20 overs) in the first innings, England chased down that target in 19.2 overs after losing four wickets.
