For the batting side, the sixes are the most important factor in the T20 cricket format as it helps to run the scoreboard quickly. During the 2014 T20 World Cup, which was officially known as the ICC World T20 2014, the batsmen hit a total of 300 sixes.

Talking about the most sixes in a tournament, firstly we always look at the famous aggressive batsmen. In the 2014 T20 World Cup, many aggressive batsmen didn’t disappoint with their bat.

Here we are talking about the top five batsmen with most sixes in the 2014 T20 World Cup

Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh) – 9 sixes

Playing in the home condition during the 2014 T20 World Cup, Bangladesh cricketer Shakib Al Hasan hit a total of nine sixes with his bat.

As a top-middle-order batsman, Shakib mostly maintained his consistency with the bat during that tournament. During the First Round game against Nepal (at Chattogram on 18th March 2014), Shakib smashed four sixes (37 not out off 18 balls), which was also his most sixes in an innings of that tournament.   

Tom Cooper (Netherlands) – 10 sixes

Netherlands middle-order batsman Tom Cooper finely maintained his aggressive batting during the entire 2014 T20 World Cup. The second-most run-scorer of the tournament Tom (231 runs in seven matches) smashed 10 sixes in that tournament.

The right-handed hard hitting batsman smashed 6 sixes during the First Round match of the tournament against Ireland at Sylhet on 21st March 2014. In that game, Tom scored the crucial 45 runs off just 15 balls.

Virat Kohli (India) – 10 sixes

Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli hugely impressed in the 2014 T20 World Cup. While India finished as the runners-up, the Player of the Tournament award winner Kohli finished the tournament as the leading run-scorer (319 runs in six matches). During that tournament, the right-handed top-order batsman hit 10 sixes.

In the final of that tournament (against Sri Lanka at Dhaka on 6th April 2014), Kohli smashed four sixes, which was also his most sixes in an innings during that tournament. He scored 77 runs off 58 balls in that tournament final, which was also his best performance in that tournament, but they hadn’t the winning luck on that night.

Glenn Maxwell (Australia) – 12 sixes

Australian middle-order batsman Glenn Maxwell is famous for his aggressive batting, and he maintained that image during the 2014 T20 World Cup. The right-handed batsman managed to hit a total of 12 sixes in that tournament and finished as the second most six hitter of that tournament.

During that tournament, Maxwell had the best batting performance against Pakistan in the Super 10 Stage game (at Dhaka on 23rd March 2014) where he scored 74 runs off just 33 balls. In that game, Maxwell smashed 6 sixes along with 7 fours.  

Stephan Myburgh (Netherlands) – 13 sixes

Netherlands opener Stephan Myburgh had the crucial contribution in team’s batting during the 2014 T20 World Cup. The Dutch opening batsman finished as the most six hitter in that tournament as the left-handed batsman smashed a total of 13 sixes in seven matches of that tournament.

During the crucial First Round game against Ireland at Sylhet on 21st March 2014, Myburgh hit 7 sixes when the left-handed opening batsman scored the stunning match-winning 63 runs off just 23 balls. It was also the most sixes in an innings for a batsman in that entire tournament.
