2016 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy: Baroda to meet Uttar Pradesh in the final 

Today was the third and final day of the Super League in the 2016 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The two group leaders Baroda and Uttar Pradesh will meet each other in the final match of the tournament on 20th January.

Baroda clinched a dramatic victory over Mumbai in the Group A crucial encounter to achieve the spot into the final while Uttar Pradesh continued their unbeaten streak in this tournament after beating Delhi in the final Group B match.

At first, Kerala and Gujarat claimed their victory against Vidarbha and Jharkhand respectively.  

In the second phase of the day, Mumbai managed 151 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Baroda was looking to chase the total easily at one stage when they were 143/6 in 18 overs. But then the drama began for the short moment. In the 19th over, Mumbai claimed three wickets but Baroda snatched the victory in the last ball of that over. With the 8 points, each of Baroda, Mumbai and Kerala; Baroda clinched their spot for the final through Net Run Rate system.

Uttar Pradesh won their match in the last over. With the 12 points in the points table after winning three Super League matches, Uttar Pradesh went in the final.
