Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh) – 70 runs (against Oman at Dharamsala on 13th March 2016)
It was the 12th match of the 2016 T20 World Cup (First Round). After Oman decided to field first, Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal took the responsibility of the entire first innings as the left-handed batsman remained not out on 103 runs off 63 balls. It was the highest individual knock in that tournament.
During that centurion knock, Tamim generated 70 runs from the boundaries, out of which, he hit 10 fours and 5 sixes. His batting helped Bangladesh to score 180/2 (20 overs) in the first innings.
Later, in the rain-interrupted second innings, while Oman had the revised target of 120 runs in 12 overs, they were restricted to 65/9 (12 overs). Bangladesh won that match by 54 runs (D/L method).
