Afghanistan wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Shahzad is one of the greatest batsmen of his national team. During the 2016 T20 World Cup, while Afghanistan finished in the Super 10 stage, Shahzad batted outstandingly in that entire tournament. The right-handed batsman scored 222 runs in seven innings with an average of 31.71 and strike-rate of 140.50.

In that tournament, Shahzad was the only batsman to score 40+ runs for four times, including one half-century. He played that half-century knock during the First Round of that tournament against Scotland at Nagpur on 8th March 2016, where the right-handed batsman scored 61 runs off just 39 balls, including 5 fours and 3 sixes.
