- This will be the first time in the ICC ODI tournament history when India and Pakistan are meeting each other in the final of the tournament.
- Last time, India and Pakistan had met each other in the final of an ODI tournament during the Kitply tri-nation series (Bangladesh, India and Pakistan in Bangladesh) final in 2008 (on 14th June 2008). Pakistan had won that game by 25 runs.
- In the ODI tournaments’ finals history between India and Pakistan, India has never claimed a victory when they have batted first. All their past 3 finals victories (in ODI format) against Pakistan had been come through chasing the targets.
- In the ODI tournaments’ knock-out history between India and Pakistan, there is no successful 50+ innings from the captains.
