The 2004 edition of the ICC Champions Trophy in England till date remains the only ICC event featuring the United States of America.
Pretty fair to assert, that was a forgettable affair, as the side was crushed in both its games by Trans-Tasman neighbours New Zealand and Australia.
In their second encounter against world champions Australia, the first timers were merely humbled, as the heavyweight Kangaroos decimated the USA batting lineup and wrapped up the formalities within 24 overs to ensure that the team was bowled out for a sorry 65.
Ironically, that remains USA’s final game in any ICC event and the wait to see the side in a competition remains long awaited.
