Sir Curtly Ambrose – West Indies (vs Australia at Perth on 3rd February 1997)
Sir Curtly Ambrose was one of the famous furious West Indian fast bowlers at ’90s. But once he was involved in a run-out which at best was due to his callousness. It was the 5th and final Test match of a five-match series between Australia vs West Indies at Perth in 1997. After Australia was bundled out for 243 runs in their first innings on day 1, West Indies easily crossed that runs and were looking to put a good lead on the board.
Sir Curtly Ambrose was on strike at 15 runs while West Indies was 384/9 and Ambrose was facing Australian leg-spinner, Shane Warne, when that hilarious dismissal happened. The left-handed batsman Ambrose wanted to play that ball but failed and the ball went into the air after it hit on Ambrose’s pad.

Australian wicket-keeper Ian Healy grabbed a ball and threw it to the striker’s end. The ball hit the stumps while Ambrose was still slightly outside the crease, even though he had enough time to reach the crease. Lack of concentration cost that wicket and by hence West Indies innings came to end at 384 runs on day 3.
The Caribbean team, though, won that match by 10 wickets but lost the series by 3-2.
