Dinesh Mongia:

Five Indian Players Who Faded Away After Promising Starts

Former Indian cricketer Dinesh Mongia failed to capitalise on the opportunities given to him. After giving the prolific performance for Punjab, he earned the place in the national side for the 2003 World Cup. But he had a disappointing tour as he scored just 120 runs in 11 matches.

He has played 57 ODI matches and scored 1230 runs at an average of 27.95. He has also played one T20I match in 2006 where he scored winning 38 runs but this could not help him to maintain his place. The allrounder was dropped from the team after playing the last ODI in 2007 against Bangladesh in 2007. He also didn’t feature in domestic cricket. The Punjab-born announced his retirement from all forms of cricket last September.
