Kapil Dev (India)

Under Kapil Dev’s captaincy, India won their first-ever Cricket World Cup trophy in 1983. Apart from being a great captain, he was also a world-class pace-bowling all-rounder.
Kapil Dev played the international cricket from 1978 to 1994 where he played 356 international matches. In his international career, while he scored 9,031 runs, he also took 687 wickets.
During his retirement, he was not only the most wicket-taker in international cricket, but he was also the most wicket-taker in Test cricket history (434 wickets).
In fact, he is still the only cricketer to score 5,000+ runs as well as to take 400+ wickets in Test career. He was also the first man to score 3,500+ runs as well as to take 250+ wickets in ODI career.
However, since late 1992 to end of his international career, Dev wasn’t consistent enough. While his place was in danger, the all-rounder decided to end his career.
