Irfan Pathan to Mark Vermeulen

It was the sixth game of the 2004 VB Series (ODI tri-series among Australia, India and Zimbabwe) in Australia where India and Zimbabwe met at Brisbane on 20th January 2004. In the second innings of that match, Zimbabwean opener Mark Vermeulen received a massive blow as the Indian left-arm pacer Irfan Pathan‘s one bouncer hit on his helmet. That delivery was 136.4 km/h, and it hurt hugely to the Zimbabwean opener who could stand after that. That ball hit just above his right eye which caused the fracture and bleeding, and Vermeulen was forced to be retired hurt from that innings.
