Test cricket is the purest form where the patience of the batsmen and bowlers are tested. In One day Internationals and T-20 format the batsmen have to score at a certain pace which would help their teams to reach a competitive total. - Steve Smith
Steve Smith is an excellent young talented batsman for Australia who bats at number 3. He made his test debut against Pakistan in 2010. He struggled for the first few matches but he changed his style of batting. In the last 2 years in test matches he has played 22 matches and scored 2290 runs with an average of 69.15. During this period he has scored 10 centuries and 7 fifty. The centuries came 4 of them against England, 4 of them against India out of which 2 were almost double ton, 1 against West Indies in 2015 and 1 against South Africa in 2014. In the ongoing test match against England at Lords he is not out on 129 and looking for a big score.
- David Warner
David Warner is another explosive opening batsman for Australia and gives the team a flying start. He made his test debut against New Zealand in 2011.
