- Bernard Julien (West Indies – Prudential World Cup 1975)
Bernard Julien was one of the heroes for West Indies in 1975 World Cup winning campaign. The left-arm medium fast bowler (10 wickets in 5 matches) was the joint highest wicket-taker for West Indies in the Prudential WC 1975 along with Keith Boyce (10 wickets in 5 matches); while he was the second joint highest wicket-taker in the tournament. Julien was also a brilliant fielder and good stroke player. In Test cricket, he made 2 centuries for West Indies. However in the 1975 WC final, Australia vs West Indies, he finished wicket-less but he made an important unbeaten 26 runs in the lower order, which finally made a difference between the two teams.
Julien made debut in the international cricket at 1973 and played till March 1977, when his age was just 27. His career ended immaturely as he suffered a life ban after serving for the rebel West Indies side that toured South Africa in 1982-83 (also in 1983-84). Julien only played 24 Tests and 12 ODIs for West Indies in his international career.
