In the final match against Australia, the right-handed wicket-keeper batsman played a match winning knock of 63 runs and also was awarded man of the match.
His international cricket ran very shortly from 2010 to 2013 where he featured 46 ODIs and 25 T20Is for England. At the age of 25, he played last time for England. His cricketing career faced a massive tragedy as he suffered a massive blow on his face while he was batting in the domestic cricket. As a result, his nose was broken and his eye socket got damage.
