Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has suggested two names whom he believes not far away to earn the maiden national team call-up soon.
After a long off-season due to COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian team finally re-started their international cricket in the ongoing Australia tour. After the Australia tour, India will host the English team for the four-match Test series, five-match T20I series and three-match ODI series. The itinerary schedule of the complete series between India and England has been recently revealed.
Recently, talking about the Indian team, Aakash Chopra believes that Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are not far away to debut for the national team. He even believes that both of them can earn the national team call-up during the home international series against England, especially when the Indian cricketers are facing fitness issues in recent times.

Uploading a video on his official Facebook account, Chopra said, “So both Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan are knocking the doors and considering the number of our players that are getting injured, I feel they might even get to play against England.”
Both Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan highly impressed in recent years, while they really performed well in the recently concluded IPL 2020. Both of them became the crucial reasons for Mumbai Indians’ fifth IPL trophy victory.
While Ishan was the leading run-scorer for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2020 (5th most run-scorer in the tournament), Suryakumar Yadav was the third most run-scorer for that team in that edition (7th most run-scorer in the tournament).
The most six-hitter in the IPL 2020, Ishan (30 sixes) scored 516 runs in 13 innings with an average of 57.33 and strike-rate of 145.76, including 4 fifties.

On the other hand, Suryakumar Yadav scored 480 runs in 15 innings with an average of 40.00 and strike-rate of 145.01, including 4 fifties.

Aakash Chopra is disappointed with Shreyas Iyer’s performances in Australia tour
Though Delhi Capitals skipper Shreyas Iyer scored 519 runs in the IPL 2020, Aakash Chopra was disappointed with his performances in the limited-overs series in Australia. During this tour, while the right-handed batsman scored only 59 runs in the three-match ODI series (average 19.66), he scored 12 runs in 2 innings (average 12.00) during the three-match T20I series.

The former Indian cricketer is also unhappy with Sanju Samson continuos unimpressive performances in international cricket.

Chopra said, “Let’s be honest, they are not that far. Because Samson got a chance but he could not make use of that. Shreyas Iyer is also going 50-50, his Australian tour has not been that great, in fact I will call it a slightly disappointing tour.”
In the T20I series during the Australia tour, Sanju Samson scored 48 runs in three innings with an average of 16.00 and strike-rate of 141.17.
