The Asian team has managed 11 consecutive T20I victories

It was the 11th straight T20I victories for Afghanistan. Earlier, Afghanistan were the lone record-holder in the most consecutive T20I wins with 11 victories. Before their latest achievement, Afghanistan had won straight 11 T20Is from 27th March 2016 to 12th March 2017. Now, they have managed to imitate that success once again as they have won every T20I from 5th February 2018. Another victory in their next game against Bangladesh on Sunday (15th September 2019) will help Afghanistan to create a new record in this list.

Seven consecutive sixes during Afghanistan innings

Afghanistan openers, the debutant wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz (43 runs) and Hazratullah Zazai (13 runs), provided a good start with the 57 runs partnership. However, later, Afghanistan were struggling on 90/4. But then Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi put a solid attacking 107 runs partnership for the fifth-wicket which changed the momentum of the game.

Zadran was not out on 69 runs off just 30 balls (5 fours and 6 sixes) while Nabi scored 38 runs off 18 balls (4 sixes) before losing his wicket on the last ball of that innings. From 16.3 overs to 17.3 overs, Zadran-Nabi partnership hit seven sixes in seven successive deliveries. In those overs, the Zimbabwe bowlers were Tendai Chatara and Neville Madziva respectively. It was the top game-changing moment.
