Suryakumar Yadav has recently returned to the cricket with a fiery innings in a domestic limited-overs game. After that knock, the veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has questioned why the consistent Suryakumar Yadav is not in the national team.

Mumbai cricketer Suryakumar Yadav is currently busy in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2019/20. On last Saturday (28th September), the defending champions Mumbai had the match against Chhattisgarh where Mumbai suffered a shocking defeat in the high-scoring game.

After losing the toss, Mumbai managed to score 317/5 (50 overs) in the first innings. The top-order batsmen Aditya Tare (90 runs), Yashasvi Jaiswal (44 runs) and captain Shreyas Iyer (50 runs) scored solid runs but Yadav snatched the limelight in the end.

The right-handed batsman Yadav came to bat at the no.5 position in the 42nd over and played a blistering knock. Before he lost his wicket on the final ball of that innings, Yadav scored 81 runs off just 31 balls. He smashed eight fours and six sixes in that innings and had the strike-rate of 261.29.

After that innings, Harbhajan Singh opened up about Yadav. The veteran off-spinner believes that Yadav’s time will come if he continues his hard work.

Harbhajan wrote on his official Twitter account, “Don’t know why he doesn’t get picked for india after scoring runs heavily in domestic cricket @surya_14kumar keep working hard.. your time will come”

The 29-year-old Suryakumar Yadav has played 72 first-class matches, 78 List A matches and 138 T20s. He has scored 4,818 first-class runs (average 43.01), 2,081 List A runs (average 34.11) and 2,620 T20 runs (average 29.43).

Suryakumar Yadav is a very familiar face in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In this tournament history, he has served Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). After playing 85 IPL matches, Yadav has scored 1,548 runs with an average of 28.14.
