The much-awaited World Cup’s opening ceremony is set for October 4 in Ahmedabad, where it will serve as the backdrop for the tournament’s opening match between England and New Zealand the following day.

While the precise location of this monumental event is yet unknown, most people assume that it will take place in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera. In addition to the opening game on October 5, this legendary stadium will also host the championship game on November 19.

At the event will be officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the International Cricket Council (ICC), and the executive board of the world cricket governing body.

It will also be the ICC Captains Day. With World Cup Warm-up matches ending on October 3, all captains will assemble in Ahmedabad.

India captain Rohit Sharma will travel from Thiruvananthapuram on Oct 4 morning after completing a warm-up match against the Netherlands.

World Cup 2023 Opening Ceremony

As per Cricbuzz reports, the inauguration ceremony is anticipated to be a brief yet dazzling affair, culminating in a cultural extravaganza. The spotlight of the event will shine upon all 10 captains of the participating teams.

Top singers from Bollywood as well as renowned international stars are expected to light up the event.

Six of the 10 competing teams are scheduled to play warm-up matches on the eve of the inauguration ceremony, so there will be a bustle of activity. India will compete against the Netherlands, Australia will compete against Pakistan, and Sri Lanka will compete against Afghanistan.

The captains are expected to arrive in Ahmedabad on October 4 in the morning, which will make for a lovely photo opportunity in the evening to document the collective leadership of these cricketing legends.

Apart from the fans, the top officials of the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well as BCCI will attend the event. BCCI and the ICC will invite top administrators of all cricket boards for the event.
