A cricket match at Highest-altitude
The highest-altitude cricket match was played at 5,752 m (18,871 ft) above sea level, in a dormant volcano crater on Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, on 26 September 2014. The match was famously known as “Mt. Kili Madness”; it was a T20 charity match (though later the match was reduced to 10-overs per side due to inclement weather) between Gorillas and Rhinos.
Gorillas were led by England women cricketer Heather Knight and Rhinos was led by former England (male) cricketer Ashley Giles. The match was played under official ICC (International Cricket Council) rules and conditions where Gorillas beat Rhinos by 19 runs.
