Recently, in an exclusive interview with Sportzwiki, Mumbai’s Ranji Cricketer Kaustubh Pawar , who has won many matches for Mumbai but couldn’t participate in the IPL 8 auction because of the injury.Hopefully, we will see him playing in the IPL in the coming years.
Here is a brief extract of our chat with Kaustubh.
How are you feeling after your shoulder operation ?
It’s been 3 months now and I have been working my the physio and definitely feeling better now.
Do you regret missing the entire 2014-15 season due to injury ?
Yeah I do. It’s for the first time that I missed a complete season because of injury. I couldn’t even sleep properly as I missed the entire season. There was a time when I couldn’t even move my hand properly and when the Doctor said that I will have to undergo a surgery, I did cry.
You opened an Academy. What is your aim with it ?
I was free because I couldn’t play due to injury, so I decided to open an academy. There’s no academy in my area and anyone who is willing to learn the tricks of the trade has to travel to Bandra from Thane , so I decided to share my experience with the younger guys, the experience I gained while playing with Sachin, Wasm Jaffer, Zaheer , Agarakar and others.
When will you return back to field ?
I will return for the 2015-16 season now.
You have played with so many big names . With whom did you enjoy the most and why ?
Definetely Sachin Tendulkar. I played 6 matches with him and batted twice with him. He is a silent character and commands respect. What I learnt from him is to never give up. When I scored a century against Madhya Pradesh on a difficult pitch and won the match for Mumbai, it is the most memorable moment for me as Sachin Sir patted on my back and I felt as if I have conquered the entire World.
