Anyone Criticising MS Dhoni Has No Idea What They’re Talking About – Shane Warne
The legendary Australian leg-spinner spinner Shane Warne believes that MS Dhoni is a must-have player in any side. Moreover, he has also hit back at MS Dhoni’s critics.
After some poor batting performances in 2018, MS Dhoni has returned to the batting form in early this calendar year. He won the Player of the Series award in the very first ODI series in this year. It was the Australia tour where MS Dhoni scored 193 runs in three innings with an average of 193.00. He has maintained the same performances at present.
Though MS Dhoni was struggling last year, he still put a strong impact on the national cricket team. Like the many years, he is using his sharp and long experiences on the field, and it is becoming helpful for the other players.
Shane Warne also believes this factor. He thinks that MS Dhoni is a saviour for a team when things are tough.
Recently, Shane Warne said according to ANI, “When things are tough, you need experienced guys in your side like MS Dhoni. For me, MS Dhoni is a great player and a must-have player in your side.”
The legendary leg-spinner further added that India needed him in the upcoming World Cup. He claimed that MS Dhoni’s presence would help the side as well as the Indian skipper Virat Kohli. Meanwhile, Shane Warne said that MS Dhoni’s critics had no idea on their actions.
Shane Warne added, “MS Dhoni is a great player. He can bat anywhere whatever the team needs. He is adaptable & anyone criticising him has no idea what they’re talking about. India need him in World Cup, they need his experience & leadership skills on field to help Virat Kohli as well.”
Virat Kohli is a terrific leader
Shane Warne also praised the present Indian skipper Virat Kohli. He claimed that Virat Kohli was a terrific leader but also pointed out that how MS Dhoni’s presence made his captaincy easier.
The leg-spin legend said, “Virat Kohli is a terrific leader but many a time we can have experience of MS Dhoni to help Virat when pressure is on. It’s easy to captain a side when things are going well but when it’s tough you need experience like you saw in MS Dhoni.”
Shane Warne’s World Cup prediction
The 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup is just more than two months away to begin. England and Wales will host the 12th edition of the Cricket World Cup tournament from 30th May to 14th July. The top ten teams will participate in this tournament. These teams are England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Windies.
Shane Warne claimed that India and England would begin the tournament as the favourites. However, he has also great faith in the present Australian national cricket team. Shane Warne believes that Australia can win the upcoming World Cup due to picking up themselves at the right time.
The former Aussie World Cup winner said, “World Cup is very close. I think India & England will go in as favourites because of the cricket they played in the last 6-12 months…I believe Australia win the World Cup as they’re peaking up at right time but I think India & England are going in as the favourites.”
The record five-time World Cup winners Australia will begin the upcoming World Cup tournament as the defending champions. They will start their forthcoming World Cup journey on 1st June against Afghanistan at Bristol.
