How to get Steven Smith out? It is a question that is hanging in England’s dressing room and it is still unanswered. Steven Smith has been invincible in the ongoing Ashes series as he has amassed 751 runs at a staggering average of 150.20. The right-hander has made an unbelievable return to Test format and he has been a bad dream for England. Jofra Archer who had a perfect day at work on day 2 of the final Test match stated Smith literally can not get out.

However, according to Archer, Smith was not at his best when he once again scored a fine knock of 80 runs. Smith is having flu but Archer believes that the hosts bowled better at him as compared to the previous time.
Smith also revealed he wasn’t 100% on day two.
“I’ve been struggling a little bit. I’ve got a little bit of the flu,” said the veteran Australian batsman.
Archer stated that Smith has had the rub of the green on his side as whatever shots he plays goes in no man’s land. Smith has been superb in the series and England hasn’t been able to get him out cheaply. In fact, Smith hasn’t been dismissed before 50 runs in the series. He also became the first batsman to score 10 consecutive Test fifties against any opponent.

“It’s weird, you know. Every time he bats, I don’t know what it is. He literally cannot get out. If he plays a bad shot, the ball lands in no man’s and. For the whole series. Obviously he’s a good batter, he’s got a good temperament, but I don’t know what it is: the ball never ever goes to hand,” the pacer said.
“He didn’t look himself today, he didn’t look as nailed on, he didn’t seem the same way,” Archer asserted.

“We know he’s going to miss one, though, and today just proves it. Funnily enough, the last person he missed one-off was Woakes [at Lord’s],” Archer further said.
