Former Assistant Coach of England Paul Farbrace revealed that England speedster Jofra Archer is well on course to return to the national team for the ODI World Cup later this year in India. The 28-year-old had not played for England in almost two years before making a comeback for the team in South Africa earlier this year.
After suffering elbow and back problems, Archer missed 17 months of action before making his comeback to international cricket in January as his return was short having injured himself during the IPL 2023. The Right-arm pacer is currently undergoing rehabilitation with the England and Sussex medical teams.
Speaking on BBC Radio live, Paul Farbrace said that Jofra Archer is recovering well from the injury and is well on the course to return to the England team for the ODI World Cup later this year and his return to the team would be a massive boost for the defending champions coming into the mega event later this year.

“He is going well, I think he is on course for the World Cup, which is fantastic news,” Paul Farbrace said.
The 28-year-old has played only 5 games for the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2023 and could not make an impact for the team. With frequently prone to injuries, Archer won’t take part in any of the Ashes matches against Australia in the home country. However, there is still a chance that he will be able to participate in England’s 50-over World Cup title defence in India.
I Think England Will Need To Work Out How To Get The Best Out Of Jofra Archer… – Paul Farbrace
Paul Farbrace said that the England speedster has been going nicely in his recovery process on return to England and believes that team management needs to look after him to keep him for the Ashes series in 2025 in Australia.

“He is going nicely, I think England will need to work out how to get the best out of him over the next few years if he is to go to that next Ashes series (in 2025),” Paul Farbrace added.
Jofra Archer was the key player for England in their title-winning campaign in the 2019 ODI World Cup as he picked up 20 wickets in 11 games was the highest for England. The Right-arm speedster struggled due to his fitness issues over the last couple of years and made a comeback in SA20 for MI Cape Town, but found it difficult to find his rhythm after coming back from a long injury lay-off.
